Onion OS - Anonymous internet browsing with a 20MB live CD
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 2009-12-01 12:25One of the main reasons why OnionOS is so little know is because it has no official website.
This small operating system is only 20MB and with it you will be able to browse the internet and chat anonymously through the tor network with it.

XtreemOS 2.0 release: A Linux-base Grid OS
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 2009-11-16 16:56Rennes, France November 12, 2009 - The XtreemOS project has released the second public release of its Linux-based Grid operating system under the motto "Making Grid Computing Easier". The consortium has conceived and integrated a platform of open source technologies to enable easier usage, management, scalabilty and programming on top of Grid computing resources.
XtreemOS brings new capabilties to Grids, such as easing job submission and monitoring, while providing a comprehensive security implementation and virtual organization management. XtreemOS comes in three flavors: The PC flavor makes it possible to aggregate standalone PCs as computation resources into XtreemOS Grids. The XtreemOS cluster flavor is based on Kerrighed's LinuxSSI (single system image) technology. LinuxSSI is a Linux cluster providing users an image of a single large system. The third flavor, XtreemOS Mobile has been tailored to run XtreemOS services on mobile devices, such as Nokia Internet Tablets.
The 2.0 release version includes the following functionalities:
* Creation and management of dynamic virtual organizations The security infrastructure includes a set of services that guarantee the secure operation of the system, providing management of credentials, permissions and resources.
* Application execution management AEM is able to search available nodes that fulfill the application needs from within a large number of candidates and then execute the application on the selected nodes. AEM provides job and resource monitoring so that users can get a Linux-like view of their applications. A new experimental feature in this release is the ability to run interactive jobs such as graphical applications unmodifed; harnessing the power of a Grid system. In addition, there is a new graphical tool for editing and managing job submissions. Lasty, grid checkpointing and job migration has been integrated into this version.
* XtreemFS is a replicated and distributed object-based file system. It allows scaling an installation by adding machines with free storage resources. It offers striping of files over multiple storage servers for high performance parallel access. Furthermore, it supports automated mounting of home volumes.
* XOSAGA programming interface The XOSAGA API is built using the Simple API for Grid Applications (SAGA) standard from the Open Grid Forum (OGF). It provides access to XtreemOS resources and services.
* Xosautoconfig is a new tool included in the distribution, which assists Grid administrators and other users to quickly deploy XtreemOS nodes on Virtual Machines, Grids and test beds.
With this release, the XtreemOS consortium invites the participation of external contributors and feedback. XtreemOS is open source and GPL/BSD licensed. For more info please email: contact@xtreemos.eu There is a lively developer channel on #xtreemos-dev on irc.freenode.net, as well.

About XtreemOS
Partially funded by the sixth framework programme (Contract FP6-033576) of the European Commission, XtreemOS is a 4-year research project, comprised of 19 academic and enterprise partners in Europe and China that aims to develop a Linux based grid operating system to simplify the usage, management and programming of grids.

XtreemOS is a 4-year integrated project aiming at building and promoting a Grid operating system based on Linux to underpin future computing grids. The XtreemOS operating system provides for Grids what a traditional operating system offers for a single computer: abstraction from the hardware and secure resource sharing between different users. The project is led by INRIA and involves 19 research and industrial partners from Europe and China. More information on our project website: http://www.xtreemos.eu/

Linux Internet Kiosk using Debian-Live HOWTO
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 2009-11-03 21:05"This is the revamped version of the Debian Internet Kiosk with Firefox 2 HOWTO. I have adapted it to use Iceweasel, which gives a major improvement for streamlining the process. I have gotten rid of the requirement to install from tarball. The extensions I use have matured a bit so as to give better functionality.
I have chosen to rename and completely overhaul the process. From now on I will be using the Debian-Live system to create Live-USB or Live-CD distributions, leaning towards the USB option. There are many pros and cons between CD and USB solutions, a of few which I will name right now."

Check Out Some ScreenShots Below!

WeakNet Linux 3 Lite is small enough to fit onto a CD current build ~600MB and runs servers directly from the CD including Web / PHP, FTP, SSH, and more.
In WeakNet Linux 3 We are Debuting our very own implementation of a Social Network. This Social Network acts much like any other which is built from MySQL / PHP / and HTML. This server can be used for a fun thing to do with friends, or as a hacking point in a Computer Security Lab. One can learn a lot about how PHP, HTML, and Apache2 work plus get some good SQL injection experience.
The default window manager is now FluxBox to save space. They have added the following drivers for Wireless: madwifi-ng (patched for injection) latest build, BCM43x ALL, rt2x00 patched, rt73 (serialmonkey patched for injection), rt73usb, Ath5k, Ath9k, wlan-ng (patched for injection), and more. This version uses the acclaimed WICd network manager.
WardriveSQL now has a GUI startup program to start it up, which allows you to specify remote or localhost MySQL server for remote viewers to watch you wardrive in real time. WiFiZoo has 2 new GUI implementations to get you started sniffing cookies in the lab!
WiFiS33k - Perl implementation of a WiFi Sniffer that can be ran as you are associated to an AP:

Added a much larger SQL injection menu in the desktop menu, and more applications including AirPWN (tested with LORCON and working), and much more.
Web Hacking Portal - same version, updated phishers. Added more security links to Firfox and links to reference sites to learn computer security.
New Forums have also been implemented for FREE HELP with the OS on WeakNet Labs' website HERE: WeakNet Labs' Forums
